Multiculturalism and Organ donation
When people are sick or dying, culture, religion and traditions take on or regain importance, especially in the hospital setting where families have little control over events.
Some people mistakenly believe that organ donation is not condoned or is even forbidden by their religion. Simply being given information and having someone suggest turning to a spiritual advisor will often provide families with the reassurance they need to choose the donation option so that they may enjoy the benefits that this gesture can bring.
